How to Speed up Windows 10 pc faster?

Slow PC or laptop speed, that is the most frustrating thing to experience while working with the PC. Most of people have to face that problems. After you bought a brand new PC or laptop with the time, speed of that PC or laptop going to slow dawn very quickly. To fix that issue easily you can follow that below methods to speed up win 10 pc.


1. Go opaque

Windows 10's new start menu is sexy & see-through, but that transparency will cost you some resources. So to reclaim those resources, you can disable transparency in the Start menu, action center and task bar.

1.      Open the Settings menu
2.      Go to Personalization  -->> Colors 
3.      Toggle off Make Start, taskbar and action center transparent.

 

2. No special effects

Making the Start menu, action center and task bar transparent is one thing, However Windows 10 still has a lot of other snazzy, built in special effects. To really go bare bones on the special effects, Just right click on the Start button and click System -->>Click Advanced system settings to open the System Properties menu (on the Advanced tab under Performance) -->> click Settings.

Then this will open the Performance Options menu. In the Visual Effects tab, either choose Adjust for best performance to turn off all unnecessary animations and special effects or choose Custom: and deselect the visual affects you think can live without. After you are finished, click OK to apply your changes.


3.Find (and fix) the problem

Windows 10 has a built in performance troubleshooter that can help you find and fix any problems that might be affecting your PC's or laptop’s speed. To open the troubleshooter, just 

right click on the Start button and click Control Panel (Under Security and Maintenance at the top) -->> click Troubleshoot common computer problems. -->> under System and Security, click Run maintenance tasks.


4. Reduce the Boot Menu Time-out

When your PC starts up, the boot menu is displayed for a certain amount of time before the operating system loads. This gives you time to do things like start Windows in Safe Mode. You can save a few seconds off your startup time by changing the boot menu time-out, which is set to 30 seconds by default.
To do this,

Right click on the Start button -->> click Control Panel -->> Go to System -->> Advanced system settings  -->> under Startup and Recovery -->> click Settings -->> Time to display list of operating systems: change the value from 30 seconds to 10 seconds and click OK.


5. No tipping

In an effort to be helpful, Windows 10 will sometimes give you tips on How to get the most out of the windows OS. It scans your computer in order to do this, a process that can have a slight impact on performance. To turn off these tips,

1.      Go to Start
2.      Click on Settings -->> System > Notifications & actions
3.      Then toggle off Get tips, tricks and suggestions as you use Windows.


6. Run Disk Cleanup

This is one of win-win method. It will improve performance and free up space on your computer hard drive. Disk Cleanup has been around forever but this trusted Windows utility can still help clean out the temporary files, installers and other junk littering your hard drive. To run it, 

Just search for Disk Cleanup, run it and click the button labeled Clean up system files.


7. Eradicate bloatware

If your PC or laptop came with preinstalled apps you don't want or need, get rid of them. Same goes for any apps you installed that you later found to be of little or no use. 

Right click the Start menu -->> choose Control Panel and under the Programs header ->> click Uninstall a program.
Peruse the list from time to time and select the programs you no longer need and click Uninstall at the top of the list.


8. Power plan

Make sure you are not using a Power saver plan if you don't need to. Even desktops will sometimes feature a power saver option, which doesn't do you any good unless you are trying to conserve battery life.
Open the Control Panel -->> go to Hardware and Sound -->> Power Options to see which power plan you are currently using.
For better performance, make sure that you are using a High Performance or Balanced plan or a plan from the PC manufacturer that says it's balanced.


9. Disable Background Apps

For disable the back groung apps

Go to Settings -->> Privacy -->> Background apps and disable all unwanted apps running in background consuming your precious data and CPU.


10. Disable Startup Programs

1.      Pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc and open task manager
2.      Then click on startup tab.
3.      Now, right click on any program or app which you want to disable on startup.


11. Delete Unwanted temp files

1.      Press windows key + R to bring run command box.
2.      Then type %temp% in run command box and hit enter.
3.      Then it will open Temp folder delete all files in this folder.
4.      Again click on windows key+R and click on run.
5.      Type temp in run command box and hit enter.
6.      Then delete all the files in this temp folder also.


      

12. Delete Prefetch files 

press windows key + R -->> type prefetch in the text field and hit enter -->> delete all the files in this folder


13. Hide all Non-Microsoft services

1.      Press windows key + R
2.      Type, msconfig in the run command box and press enter.
3.      Then, click on services tab.
4.      Check the option saying hide all Microsoft services.
5.      Then, press OK


14. Adjust system for best performance

1.      Right Click on This PC icon on Desktop -->> Click on Properties to view “System Settings” window
2.      Then click on Advanced System Settings
3.      Under Advanced settings, click on settings below Performance section
4.      Choose Visual Effects tab section and then Choose Adjust for best performance
5.      Click on OK to confirm

15. Edit registry for mouse and menu delay settings

1.      Press windows key+R.
2.      Then, type regedit and hit enter
3.      Once registry editor windows open up, browse to the following location.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Control Panel
Mouse
4.      Double click on MouseHoverTime from the right side.
5.      Then, change value data to 10.


16. Disable Search Indexing

Search indexing, though improves search responses, that can deteriorate your Windows 10’s performance, which can be sometimes noticeable too. Hence, if you don’t do lots of searches every now and then, disabling the search indexing feature is a better option.
To stop or disable the search indexing process, please follow the below steps,

1.      Right click on This PC or My Computer and Choose Manage
2.      Go to Services and Applications -->> Services
3.      Then, find Windows Search and double click on this
4.      Choose Startup type and change it to disabled
5.       Then press OK.



17. Turning off UAC

The User Account Control (UAC) prompts the user every time before initiating any manual program executed by the user. This is the default setting in Windows 10. You can change the setting to install programs easily. The steps required to turn off UAC are,

1.      Click on Windows Search bar positioned at bottom left corner of your screen and type uac and click on the first option provided.
2.      Slide the bar to never notify section and click on OK.



18. Speeding up Startup

Minimizing the time to load Startup programs will increase the speed of the system. For this method, one has to follow these steps

1.      In the Windows Search bar, type “msconfig” and click on the first option provided.
2.      Under the Boot section, modify the timeout box to “3” seconds instead of “30” seconds and then click on Apply. After applying this setting, click on Advanced options
3.      Enable the check mark next to number of processors and in the drop down list select the highest number of processor available. For instance, say 4. Click on OK.
4.      Click on OK to confirm all your changes made in System Configuration.



19. Update Device drivers

1.      Update any outdated drivers in your system if any. Just search update device drivers in the search box.
2.      Now, click select your computer name from the list and then choose action -->> Scan for hardware changes



20. Optimize Folder Options

1.      Search file explorer options in the windows 10 search box of taskbar.
2.      once it opens, click on view tab
Now, uncheck the given options below
1.      Always show icons, never thumbnails
2.      Display file icon on thumbnails
3.      Display file size information in folder tips
4.      Show encrypted or compressed NTFS files in color
5.      Show pop up description for folder and desktop items
6.      Show preview handlers in preview pane

And Finally check the following options given below:
1.      Hide empty drives
2.      Hide extensions for known file types
3.      Hide folder merge conflicts
4.      Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)

3.      Finally Click OK 

21. Restart your PC

Is speeding up your computer as simple as...restarting it? Maybe. Restarting your PC clears out its memory and stops any processes that might be taking up resources. Also, shutting down your PC is not the same as restarting it, shutdown is affected by Windows 10's Fast Startup, which saves a snapshot of your PC and its processes in a hiberfile for faster boot up. Restart is not affected by fast Startup, so if you have fast startup enabled, restarting your PC is the only way to fully clear the memory and shutdown processes.
