Are you looking for Abnormally high internet bandwidth usage, c-0001.c-msedge.net of window 10??

Have you ever worry about data usage of your pc?
After you connected to the internet by using your PC or Laptop,  some time you will be noticed that without any consent download or upload activity by yourself there was an Abnormally high internet bandwidth usage, there were wasting lot of data without any useful activities. If you are working with the limited data plan you will be face this issue of Abnormally high internet bandwidth usage & it can be a headache at sometimes, so what we can do for prevent from Abnormally high internet bandwidth usage, Let’s see.

In Windows 10 OS, its includes a peer-to-peer download feature for updates & Store apps. By default, Windows will automatically use Our PC’/laptop’s Internet connection to upload updates. You can continue to use peer-to-peer updates on your local network, but you may not want to waste upload bandwidth to help reduce Microsoft’s bandwidth bills.

If you are watching your internet bandwidth traffic carefully, you can easily identify where is from that unwanted traffic coming. (c-0001.c-msedge.net, etc..).

We can use some tips & tricks to prevent that Abnormally high internet bandwidth usage.
Here they are…

1. Disable the Uploads

We can find this setting where all the other Windows Update settings now exist, in the Settings App. You can open it by clicking the Start button and selecting “Settings” at the bottom-left corner of the windows Start menu.

1.      Go to settings
2.      Click on Update & Security
3.      Click on Windows update from the left menu.
4.      Click on advanced options from right side.
5.      Click on Delivery Optimization
6.      Click on advanced options
7.      Select the option you prefer that underAllow downloads from other PCs”.
*
We recommend just selectingPCs on my local network

Off: This disables the peer-to-peer update feature entirely. Updates will only be downloaded from Microsoft’s servers, & won’t be uploaded to anywhere.

PCs on my local network: This is the best option we can recommend. With this enabled, you’ll benefit from peer-to-peer updates on your home/work network. Its means faster downloads and less download bandwidth used. You’ll only have to download the updates once, and they will be shared amongst all your PCs. Your PC will never upload updates over the Internet.

PCs on my local network, and PCs on the Internet: This option is the default one, although it probably shouldn’t be. With this enabled, Windows 10 will upload updates from your PC to other computers over the Internet. These computers would normally just download updates from MS, but Microsoft will save on bandwidth because those PCs are getting some updates from your Internet connection.

2.Set Your Connection as Metered

You could also set your current Wi-Fi connection as “metered”. That is the best option you have. When you set a connection as metered, you are telling Windows it’s a connection with restricted data such as a mobile data/limited data connection or a Wi-Fi Hotspot from a smartphone you are tethered to. Windows won’t upload any updates on a metered connection if it won’t even automatically download most Windows updates.
To set your current Wi-Fi network as a metered connection,

1.      Go to Settings
2.      Click on Network & Internet
3.      Click on Wi-Fi.
4.      Click on your connected Wi-Fi Network on the right side.
5.      Toggle on the option saying Set as Metered Connection.

This isn’t necessary if you’ve already disabled peer-to-peer updates in general. That will also prevent your Windows 10 PC from sharing updates with other computers on the same local PC network.

3.Peer-to-Peer Updates Explained

Peer-to-peer updates are actually a great feature on your local network. Download the update once and all your computer can share it. Bandwidth on your local network should be plentiful. This actually saves both time and reduces how much data you have to download, as you won’t have to download the updates five times if you have five Windows 10 PCs at home.

Microsoft acquired Pando Networks back in 2013. That network was a peer-to-peer media distribution company, and used a modified form of the BitTorrent to distribute data. That hasn’t been confirmed, but Microsoft watchers believe Windows 10’s PTP downloads are based on this technology. As with BitTorrent, Microsoft states that “the download is broken down into smaller parts” and “Windows uses the fastest, most reliable download source for each part of the file.” In BitTorrent parlance, Windows 10 is “seeding” updates on your PC’s Internet connection with the default setting. As with BitTorrent, Windows Update checks the pieces it receives to ensure they are legitimate, so there is no risk of downloading an update that’s been tampered with.

However, Windows 10 isn’t the first software product to play this game. A variety of PC game companies, Entertainment, distribute games and patches with a PtoP downloader that uses BitTorrent in the background to speed up downloads, sharing your Internet connection with other people downloading. However, these are generally more conspicuous, it isn’t a hidden feature enabled in the background that is always running.

If Microsoft’s servers are being slammed, the distributed nature of the updates can ensure they reach more people faster. This will also help Microsoft save on bandwidth bills, as they’re passing on some of the upload bandwidth they’d need to pay for to their customers’ Internet connections.

According to Microsoft, this feature is named “Windows Update Delivery Optimization.” Microsoft says it also uses your computer’s Internet connection to upload universal apps you’ve downloaded to other PCs over the Internet, so it isn’t just about Windows updates. This isn’t made clear in the Settings app itself, but only on Microsoft’s website.
For more information, please consult the official Windows Update Delivery Optimization FAQ on Microsoft’s website.

4.Switch Off Background Apps

Windows 10 allows some of the background apps to function by default that turn consumes a lot of data. The notable culprit here is the ‘Mail’ application that depletes the majority of data. In such cases, it is rather safe to switch off of these offenders or apps in order to save yourself some data.
Many apps run in Background to update to eat your bandwidth and in turn slowing your internet speed. You must turn off background apps to save yourself from data leakage.

1.      Open settings panel again.
2.      Click on privacy.
3.      Scroll down the left menu and choose background apps.
4.      Turn off Background apps.
5.      switch off any other apps that you think you do not require and are finishing your data.

5. Deactivate PC Synchronization Function

PC sync function being the Windows 10 trademark feature, the fact is that it eats up a considerable portion of our data. So you really do not want it to run at the background unless required, however it’s a better idea to keep it switched off till the time you need to sync files. In order to switch the PC sync off.

1.      Go to Settings
2.      Then, go to Accounts
3.      Click on Sync your settings
4.      Then click on OFF

6. Disabled Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS)

BITs, Transfers files in the background using idle network bandwidth. If the service is disabled, then any applications that depend on BITS, such as Windows Update or MSN Explorer, will be unable to automatically download programs and other information.

1.      Just open Task Manager -->> Click more details in below the table
2.      Then click on Services tab -->> Open BITS
3.      Right click on BITS & Open Open Services -->> Then select Background Intelligent Transfer Service.
4.      Right click & click on properties
5.      Then under the General Tab Select the Disable in Startup type
6.      Finally, Apply -->> Ok

7. Uninstall Onenote app
If you do not use OneNote app anyway, you need to uninstall it to save bandwidth spent on syncing files and folders. It also makes your windows 10 system slow dawn and lagging.
To uninstall OneNote just search OneNote, just search OneNote in the search box of windows 10, do a right click and uninstall, it.

8. Block Windows 10 "Spying"

As usually Microsoft used Windows 10 to collect of your information as well as the other usage data. That can be issue for user’s privacy as well as limited their internet bandwidth and slowdown user’s internet speed. To prevent that windows spying issue you have to Block that windows 10 spying URLs. It can be garneted your privacy by protecting your private information and prevent the Abnormally high internet bandwidth usage.

I think that article will help you to solve a big headache of internet data usage. So that will help you to reduce high data usage.
